"In the business world, the rear view mirror is always clearer than the windshield"
Warren Buffet

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our business planning always had the desired outcome?

Sadly, experience teaches us otherwise. The more complex and multi-faceted the plan, the greater the margin for error. The difference between success and failure is often a fine line. It can boil down to lack of clarity, poor execution, insufficient buy-in, or simply lack of challenge during the planning process.

Over the years I have worked with many commercial organisations, as well as leading a top 50 law firm, and I understand fully the value of outside help to an organisation. Recent experiences of working for businesses reinforces my belief that external help is vital in supporting its leaders to plan and deliver their business objectives.

Businesses can be guilty of “group think”, especially when the planning process is complex and those involved do not see it as a high priority.  Whether your plan is a simple or a complex one, objective outside help can make a difference. It will challenge your assumptions, it won’t be influenced by sentimentality and it will work with you to produce the outcomes desired by the business.
